Khushnum is a Senior Associate and joined the Firm in 1998. She has been involved in corporate and commercial matters, including project finance (syndicated loans, project finance, Islamic financing), establishing branches in Pakistan of foreign companies, banking and financing transactions and has assisted senior counsel in litigation in specialised tribunals and the courts in Pakistan and also on matters pertaining to mergers and acquisitions, finance and taxation, and foreign direct investment. Khushnum primarily now advises on intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on the preparation, processing and prosecuting of applications, oppositions, infringements, opposition proceedings, appeals, and other related matters including copyrights and domain names. Khushnum has also advised extensively on trademark availability, infringement, competition commission issues, customs trademark related issues and other related intellectual property matters.

• Advised on litigation pending before the Sessions Court, Peshawar regarding the use of a trademark resemblance matter in a Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) case
• Advised and filed appeals at the High Court of Sindh in relation to trademark matters
• Advised and filed documents before the Intellectual Property Tribunal relating to trademark infringement cases filed against third parties
• Advised and filed documents in relation to an appeal filed before the Copyright Board relating to a trademark issue
