Didar Karim is an Advocate of the High Court and advises on Intellectual Property litigation matters, particularly in connection with the protection of Trade Marks, Copyrights and Domain. Karim started his career at Vellani & Vellani in 1995 and has since then been involved in matters relating to preparation, processing and prosecuting of applications, oppositions, rectifications/cancellations and infringements. Karim’s practice covers all aspects of Intellectual Property protection and enforcement, with additional focus on brand protection and anti-counterfeiting strategies, domain name disputes and copyright protections.
• Filing and pursuing oppositions, rectification and invalidation actions.
• Acting and advising clients in relation to Intellectual Property litigation matters, such as preparing and pursuing civil actions for Intellectual Property infringement, passing off and unfair competition.
• Attending hearings in relation to oppositions, rectifications, applications (ex-parte) matters at the Trade Marks Office.
• Attending hearings at the Copyright Office in oppositions and rectifications matters.
• Advising clients in relation to Intellectual Property litigation matters, including, in particular, filing, preparing and pursuing civil actions for Intellectual Property infringement, passing off and unfair competition and exploring settlement options and representing clients before the Intellectual Property Tribunals and Courts.
