Ali J. Pirani embarked on his professional journey with specialized litigation in intellectual property at ZABAR. He later moved to Legal Oracles as an associate to explore the wider domains of civil law. Ali currently engages in civil litigation disputes before multiple courts including the District Courts, Banking Courts, National Industrial Relations Commission, Customs Appellate Tribunal, Intellectual Property Tribunal and other fora. Previously, he has independently advised tech start-ups, provided legal consultancy to multinational pharmaceutical companies.



Real Estate
• Advised parties on their rights under lease and license agreements
• Represented landlords as well as tenants in multiple litigations pertaining to tenancy disputes

 

Intellectual Property
• Advised businesses, companies and multinationals in relation to the trademark and copyright laws
• Advised and represented Sanofi Aventis Pakistan Limited for protection of intellectual property in its digital healthcare solutions
• Conducted IP watch and diligence on behalf of clients against possible infringements of their trademarks
• Represented and defended multiple trademark applications against oppositions and in various trademark infringement disputes before the Intellectual Property Tribunal

 

Dispute Resolution
• Represented Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited in a series of recovery lawsuits
• Represented Dubai Aviation Corporation (flydubai) against fraudulent claims
• Advised on and appeared in multiple guardianship applications, divorces
• Advised on letters of probate, letters of administration and succession certificates, and the subsequent mutation of assets in the names of legal heirs/beneficiaries
• Represented a corporate insurance agent for recovery of its receivables from the insurance company
• Advised a former employee of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) against termination of his employment upon whistleblowing in the wake of an airplane crash
